Yum!! [home projects]

I think I've been constantly talking about the Eiffel chair, just because it's simple yet eye-catching design is the most appealing thing I've ever seen in a chair. I'd like to add the George Nelson bubble lamp  to my dining room for my lighting needs (large saucer lamp). But what I'd like the most is to have the artichoke lamp, which, unfortunately, is out of the question, since it's way out of my budget.
Next thing on the list is a rug for the family room. Because of other elements, I would like it to be graphic and unique. As a last resort it could be a thick, white/beige rug...but I have a shortlist (see below).
Some other things on my wish list are painting the walls of the dining room (dark shade of blue..I think), and painting my second room white (it's currently pastel pink and green, I don't know what I was thinking!). I'm also hoping to remodel the kitchen to make it unique, but still functional, by changing the cabinets, the counter tops, the back-splash, and the doorhandles. See below for some ideas of my thought-line. Keeping my hopes up, thatI 'll accomplish these tasks fairly soon. :-)

Emilio Pucci [Pre-Fall 2011]

Peter Dundas' Pre Fall collection includes a wide variety of colors which beautifully fits in an interior. For the first one, the bright blue room has a mid century rustic feel. For dress number two, the colors of the bold red and brownish black are portrayed on the artwork on the wall. Dress number three has a feminine combination with a hint of the dramatic in pink, white and black. The three colors are tied together in the room on the wall, couch, and on the chairs, [which are eiffel chairs that I hope to get  soon for my dining room!!].

Tangerine and Ivory Event

In this event, a shade of bright orange is added to a calm, cool and collected ivory. The ivory acts as a counterpoint to the vibrant orange and makes it pop. This color scheme could be used for an outdoor summer party under a canopy of trees.

White Simplicity

I can't believe that it's the first snow this year in Plano, TX. We have about two to four inches and the dark brown trees are a stark contrast to the snow. This serene landscape is topped of with the sky's soft gray scale...(you can probably tell that I'm not very used to extremely cold weather and white precipitation.) Snow reflects the phrase 'white simplicity' which perfectly fits these interiors...

Event: Onyx and Mustard

Black and yellow!...they are two bold colors that can look good together too. To add to this event,  the star wears the black/yellow Carolina Herrera dress, and  the tablecloth is a classic pattern in these vibrant colors.

Kitchen Perfection with Open Shelving

What I love the most, is when kitchens have open shelving- a wonderful to display a perfect collection of dishes. I especially love the white dishes on the espresso wood because the dishes really stand out.
White dishes on dark wood shelves look almost sculptural, add to that a large black and white photo and that equals a perfect kitchen!!

Have a Fun and Pink Christmas!

Oh, how it would be to wake up on Christmas morn to find cleanly  wrapped gifts under a colorful, decorated tree. A blue, pink, and green color palette creates a playful theme to compliment the holiday season. After all...'Tis the season to be jolly and joyful. :-)
